Q. Carpenter inks with Ball State golf

November 20, 2012

BOURBON — A year ago in the spring of 2011, then-Triton sophomore Quentyn Carpenter had a decision to make: Continue playing with the Trojans’ successful basketball team or get serious about his first love and quit the team to pursue golf full-time.
It wasn’t an easy choice but Carpenter stood firm, and he was given a measure of vindication when he signed on with the Ball State’s men’s golf team last week.

Lady Pilgrims win home opener

November 19, 2012

PLYMOUTH — Kill the head, and the body will die. Cut off the point, and running an offense becomes pretty difficult.
Such was Plymouth’s plan coming into Saturday’s home opener versus Valparaiso, and the Lady Pilgrims executed to a T.
Sophomore Allie Wright relentlessly shadowed Valpo point guard Grace Withrow, effectively marooning her from the rest of the Vikings’ offense, the Pilgrims created havoc in the passing lanes, and Plymouth rode a strong defensive effort to a 50-32 win at The Rock.
