LAKEVILLE â€” The LaVille girls soccer team was awarded a league-high six All-Northern State Conference picks after the Lady Lancersâ€™ repeat NSC championship this fall.
Heather Roeder and Grace Ingle were named All-NSC forwards, Nina Zeiger was nominated in the midfield, Danielle Romano and Breanna Dejarnett were named in the backfield, and Kyleigh Breden was named all-conference in goal for LaVille, which finished its NSC slate at 5-1.
NEW CARLISLE â€” The picks are in for the 2012 All-Northern State Conference volleyball team.
New Prairie tops the list with two first team selections and an honorable mention nomination following an undefeated 7-0 conference season. Knox, which finished second in the conference at 6-1, Bremen, which placed third with a 5-2 record, and Jimtown, which closed NSC play at 3-4 in fourth in the final team standings, all received two first team and one honorable mention pick.

The line was steady and even out the door at times this morning at the Knights of Columbus in Plymouth. Voting started today at 6 a.m. though some were lined up as early as 5:45 a.m.
Other polling places reported brisk voting first thing this morning.
While Mitt Romney is almost assuredly going to carry Indiana in the Presidential race, competitive races for Governor, Senator, Representative and Superintendent of Schools was expected to account for good turnout.
In Marshall County, early voting was up from 2008.

CULVER â€” The Culver Girls Academy basketball team will honor the schoolâ€™s all-time leading scorer and Indiana Miss Basketball 1990 Patricia Babcock McGraw prior to the Lady Eaglesâ€™ opener with Bethany Christian at Fleet Gymnasium Friday.
The junior varsity game against Bethany Christian will start at 6 p.m., followed by the ceremony in which a replica of Babcock McGrawâ€™s Miss Basketball jersey will be hung in Fleet Gym at approximately 7 p.m. The varsity contest is scheduled to tip off at 7:30. A reception for Babcock McGraw will be held after the varsity contest.

Ancilla menâ€™s basketball starts season with huge win
The Ancilla College menâ€™s basketball team began its first season under head coach Aaron Butcher with an impressive victory last Thursday over Concordia Theological Seminary, 116-63
Standout performer Demetrius Adams had 23 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.Â Jacob Frazier finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Rosey Green added 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Chargers will host the Bethel JV Nov. 8 with tipoff at 7 p.m.

DONALDSON â€” Sr. Bernice Buescher, PHJC, 97, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday Nov. 2, 2012 in the Catherine Kasper Life Center on the grounds of Ancilla Domini at Donaldson.
She is survived by two brothers, Charles and Ray Buescher.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 5 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel, 9601 Union Road, Donaldson with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral will be at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the chapel.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Donaldson.
MARSHALL CO. â€” A regulation intended to help law enforcement catch methamphetamine cooks is actually making arrests more difficult, according to Indiana State Police First Sergeant Niki Crawford.
Since the first of this year, retailers selling pseudoephedrine â€” the decongestant used in over-the-counter medicine like Sudafed â€” have â€śtrackedâ€ť purchases of the drug through a computer system. This was mandated by Indiana state government along with limiting purchasers to 3.6 grams of the drug per day.
Pseudoephedrine is a key ingredient in homemade meth.
INDIANAPOLIS â€” Riley Childrenâ€™s Foundation welcomed its new class of Riley Champions Presented by Kroger with an unforgettable weekend.
Eight courageous children from across the state were honored on the court before the Indiana Pacers game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
They also served as Riley Coin Toss Kids at the Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
