November 9th
On Oct. 18, the Plymouth police Department received a report from the Dept. of Child Services regarding a 15 year old female that had a 14 month old child. This 15 year old female was located and it was determined that she had become pregnant when she was 13 years old.
After further investigation by Detective Leo Mangus a warrant was issued for Adam Macias in reference to the charge of Child Molesting as a class A Felony Nov. 8.
Adam Macias,24, North Walnut Street, Plymouth, was located and arrested on Friday morning by Mangus. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash.
Being a sports fan is ridiculous. Iâll admit it.
You spend your nights and weekends, the little free time you have, worrying and fretting over what people you will never meet do on a field or in a gym.
When you break it down to college sports itâs even worse.
Your mood is determined on how well a 19- or 20 year-old kid plays a sport.
And for many Notre Dame fans, you ratchet that up a notch by the simple fact we didnât go to the school.
That being said, I was as engaged in Saturdayâs game against Pitt as I have been in ANYTHING Iâve ever experienced in my life.
Wow, what a great college football game!
The pageantry, surprisingly nice weather, a close game involving an undefeated team ranked in the top 5 were all part of the package that makes college football so special. The freshman quarterback was outstanding, running and passing his team to another victory. Of course, I am referring to ⊠the Oregon Ducks win over USC.
ARGOS â Trailing John Glenn by five at the end of the first half, Argos coach Gary Teel knew it was important for his girls to get off to a fast start in the second half.
HAMLET â Oregon-Davis girls basketball head coach Terry Minix contends that his teamâs offense stems from its defense.
The Class A No. 2 Lady Cats provided ample evidence of that against Elkhart Central, now coached by the man Minix credits for cultivating ODâs patented defense.
Thanks to their full-court defense and smothering half-court trap, the Cats scored 27 points off 35 turnovers in a 63-19 season-opening win over former OD assistant Will Coatieâs Blue Blazers Thursday at The Den.
BREMEN â Tonya Lucchese paid her dues for a couple of years before getting a crack at being the head coach of a high school girls basketball team in Indiana. The wait finally ended Thursday night for the new Bremen boss, but unfortunately one bad quarter put a damper on the evening as Tippecanoe Valley defeated the Lady Lions, 64-47, in the season opener for both schools.
The visiting Vikings used a 24-2 third quarter to turn a five-point halftime deficit into an impressive 17-point victory.
BREMEN â In the past three months, 26-year-old Bremen resident Jake Sahlhoff has been through a lot.
He was diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer in August and learned shortly afterwards that his health insurance plan wouldnât cover the treatment he needed. Just last week, Jake finally went through surgery to remove his eye â and the tumor inside it.

Ok, now cover up the top of this story and spell those words. Or simply call one of the members of the state bound Plymouth High School Spell Bowl team and get a little help. Those three words are among the 3,500 on the list that each team member must learn and be ready to spell at a moments notice.
âThe words arenât easy,â admitted team coach and Plymouth High School Journalism teacher Amy Schmeltz. âBut our kids are dedicated and they always talk about how the words they see in competition are words that they see on things like the SAT.â
November 8th
Late Thursday night, water was restored to the town of Culver following a water main leak in the downtown area, according to town manager Dave Schoeff.
However, now that water is back on, residents should boil their water before drinking (see details below) until further notice from the Town of Culver.

Nov. 6, 2012
WINAMAC â Wilbert James âWebbâ Hettinger, 100, of Winamac died Nov. 6, 2012 at 6 p.m. at his residence.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Anona Crissinger, Winamac; son, Terry Webb Hettinger, Jacksonville, Ill.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church, Winamac, Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at 11 a.m.
