Starr, Calumet earn 1st win
The Purdue University Calumet women’s basketball team opened up Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with an 80-51 victory over Trinity Christian on Wednesday night.
Purdue Calumet found its range in the opening minutes of the game, knocking down six trifectas in the first 11 minutes to take a 28-14 lead on Plymouth alum Alex Starr’s fourth trey of the night. After a TCC timeout, the Black and Gold would continue to pour it on with a 13-2 run in the next three minutes to take a commanding 41-16 advantage.
