There are few details from a tense situation this afternoon after a man doused himself in gasoline and threatened to set himself on fire.
It took place at a home on 11B Road outside of Plymouth.
For more than three hours, police and first responders monitored the situation and tried to engage the man.
Around 5 p.m., police were able to come up on and subdue the man.
The man was transported to the hospital. The extent of his injuries were unknown at this time.
Nobody else was at the home during the time of the situation.

Jasper County Judge John D. Potter issued a continuance on the request to have Starke County Commissioners, Starke County Treasurer Linda Belork and their counsel in Jasper Court Monday, Oct. 29 to explain to the judge why they believe they should not be held in contempt of court for closing the Starke County Treasurer's office last Monday until the matter of Belork's lack of bond is rectified.
PLYMOUTH â U.S. 30 East was closed for two hours this morning following a three-vehicle crash.
Corporal Ray West with the Plymouth Police Department, who responded to the scene, said that the driver of a pickup truck rear-ended a box truck, causing the box truck to hit a semi and flip over.
The driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the box truck was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department also responded to the accident.
SOUTH BEND â The idea that this Notre Dame season is otherworldly is a bit absurd to me.
I donât think this season is touched by God because Notre Dame is a Catholic University.
But I do believe sometimes in sports, a team can get going, and despite logic or stats, can do remarkable things.
This yearâs Fighting Irish are that sort of team.

Notre Dame is second in the country in fewest points allowed at 9.4 points per game.
The Irish are tied for ninth in sacks and 24th in interceptions.
SOUTH BEND â After Notre Dameâs 17-14 escape from its âtrapâ game Saturday against BYU, the expression used the most by players and coaches afterwards to describe the victory was âIt wasnât pretty, but âŠâ.
But it was a win and the Irish faithful will take it, a sterling 7-0 record, and the No. 5 national ranking that goes with being one of only 11 unbeatens left in college football.

In their final regular season match of the year, the Ancilla College volleyball team fell to NJCAA No. 3 Grand Rapids Community College 27-25, 25-7, 25-15.

CULVER â Clara Elizabeth Hansen, 89, of Culver, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Hospice House, South Bend.
Clara was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Warsaw to Walter W. and Bessie (Smith) White. Clara married Winferd Carl Hansen Feb. 1, 1942. Clara has been a longstanding member of Culver Lions Club & VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Clara and her husband started Hansen's Restaurant & Sport Shop in 1957.

WALKERTON â Sharon M. Baker, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, South Bend.
Also surviving are; one daughter, Carla Carr of Jacksonville, Fla. and one son, Paul Baker of Walkerton.

ARGOS â Betty Jane Cowen, 86, formerly of Argos, passed away Oct. 22, 2012 at 6:03 a.m. at Rittenhouse Senior Living of Indianapolis following an illness since May, 2012.
She was born Nov. 20, 1925 in Culver to Harry and Isa (Riggs) Young. She was a life-time resident of Marshall County.
March 27, 1964 at the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Culver, she married Eldon F. Cowen, who preceded her Feb. 6.
Betty worked at the State Exchange Bank in Culver for more than 20 years and later worked at the Argos Medical Center.
PLYMOUTH â A new after school tutoring program started this month at Jefferson Elementary School in Plymouth.
Principal Angie Mills said that teachers and administration at the school saw the need for additional reading help for their students, especially those in the third and fourth grade.
âWe used testing data from the last several yearsâŠwe really wanted to target students that needed the most help, and that is third and fourth grade at this point,â said Mills.
