PLYMOUTH â NFL football fans will remember the old âGround Chuckâ offense of Chuck Knoxâs Los Angeles Rams, and Plymouth fans will likely remember âGround Jackâ or John if you prefer from the Rockies 38-21 Friday night win over NorthWood.
Plymouth claimed a share of the Northern Lakes Conference title with the win, and welcomed a bit of the future in quarterback Jack Barron. The Plymouth freshman entered the game after Kyle Lacefieldâs ankle injury late in the second quarter and while he didnât have a pass attempt in the game managed the Plymouth offense to a big conference win.
WALKERTON â Bremen has become a pretty nice second half team.
Last week the Lions outplayed Class 3A No. 1 Jimtown 6-0 in the second half, but it wasnât enough to get the win. On Friday, Bremen rallied back from a 17-14 halftime deficit to spoil Senior Night at John Glenn, 34-24, in a back-and-forth regular season-closer for third place in the Northern State Conference.
CULVER â Culver Community and LaVille both tested positive for raging cases of fumblitis Friday.
Fortunately for the host Cavs, they put up enough offense prior to contracting the dread disease to pick up a 21-7 Northern State Conference football win over the Lancers on Senior Night.
Culver crossed the goal line in three of its first four possessions, ultimately overcoming four turnovers â three of those deep inside LaVille turf.
CULVER â It was a special Senior Night in Culver as the Eagles dominated the Fairfield Falcons early and held on to a 40-24 win.
