PLYMOUTH â A slippery road at the intersection of Olive Trail and Overmyer Drive in Plymouth were to blame for a one-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon. At 12:45 p.m. Howard Holland, Plymouth, 85, was driving a red 2002 Dodge Caravan south on Overmyer Drive and attempted to turn right onto Olive Trail but his van kept on turning. The van went off the right side of the road and struck a guide for a utility pole and the cable got wedged behind the left rear tire. Holland was not injured in the accident but the van received some minor damage and a flat tire.
If a Plymouth High School girl attends every available formal dance, it could mean purchasing six formal gowns before she graduates.
Not only is this cost out of reach for many, it is also impractical for a young woman to own and store so many dresses she will likely wear just once.
Plymouthâs Beta Delta chapter of the local womenâs philanthropic organization, Tri Kappa, has a solution: The second annual Promen-ade To Prom â a chance to recycle or buy a gently used dress for just $10.

The following is a list of the top 10 identified type of offenses of persons lodged in the Marshall County Jail during 2010:
Former John Glenn girls basketball coach Dan Hutton, right, looks on during a game last year along with longtime assistant and current Glenn head coach John Willoughby, left.
Hutton lost his battle with cancer Tuesday night. Huttonâs coaching career spans a combined 22 years and his resume boasts three Bi-County Championships, two sectional and two regional championships and a 158-111 overall high school coaching record.
Hutton was honored on Nov. 30 with the John Glenn Falcon of the Year Award and the Northern State Conference Service Award.
BOURBON â In a game teeming with subplots, Griffyn Carpenter reached the 1,000-point mark, and the Trojans got off to a quick start and didnât look back as they took it to Triton head coach Jason Grovesâ alma mater Glenn and Falconsâ head coach Travis Hannah, himself a Triton alum.
With inclement weather reeking havoc on both teamsâ schedules â indeed, Wednesdayâs Northern State Conference game was a rescheduling of a postponement Saturday â both coaches wanted to see their team hit the floor ready.

BREMEN â Many who are active in Boy Scouts for years donât finish up requirements for the Eagle Scout award. Jason Ringer, who recently received his Eagle, said he could understand why.
âThe hardest part is sticking with it for all of the years even as friends backed out,â said Ringer, a senior at Bremen High School. âI almost stopped when I fell behind on the project.â
Reaching the Eagle level is demanding.
