BREMEN — Don’t get dinner before the Bremen vs. John Glenn football game Oct. 14 — a chili tasting contest sponsored by the Bremen Kiwanis will provide food for the evening. For five dollars, you can taste chili recipes from several area restaurants or chefs and vote on your favorite.
“(Attendees) will get three tickets at the door for $5,” said event organizer Lindsay Wright. “They can put all their tickets in one bucket or pick their three favorites.”
PLYMOUTH — See You at the Pole (SYATP), a global day of student-led prayer, began in the 1990s. During the event, which always occurs the fourth Wednesday in September, students gather at their school’s flagpole before the day begins to pray for their school, city, and nation.
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth got a boost from juniors Amber Redinger and Andria Shook, and the Lady Pilgrims claimed a Northern Lakes Conference win over visiting Goshen at home on Senior Night Thursday.
SYRACUSE — The drought is finally over.
Blake Milliser scored twice for Plymouth, and the Rockies broke into the Northern Lakes Conference win column in their penultimate conference contest with a 3-1 comeback win at Wawasee Thursday.
The victory snaps a winless streak stretching all the way back to the Blueberry Tournament.
NOTRE DAME — If nothing else, the Princeton University women’s cross country team is looking forward to today’s Notre Dame Invitational so they can get away from the food at the cafeteria.
“The team is having dinner at my house the night after the race,” laughs senior team leader Alex Banfich, who is bringing the No. 22-ranked Tigers to her family’s home in Plymouth for some real Hoosier eatin’ Friday night.
First things first, though.
