Descendants and organizers gathered last Friday to dedicate an historical marker to Chief Nas-wau-kee, a Potawatomi chief who lived on the east shore of Lake Maxinkuckee until 1837. On hand was the chiefâ€™s great, great, great grand-niece Michale Edwards, who traveled from Oklahoma for the event and who discussed with the audience her discovery of her relation to the chief, who she described as â€śgentle, mild-mannered, and trusting.â€ť

PLYMOUTH â€” The best 1,500-meter runner in the world, Morgan Uceny, will hold a meet and greet at Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness Center next week.
Uceny will speak on her recent professional running successes and experiences Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. in The LifePlex Conference Room. She will answer questions and sign autographs for her fans and local supporters.
Uceny crushed the competition in the Diamond League final in Brussels, Belgium, Friday to become the womenâ€™s 1,500-meter champion in a time of 4:00.06.
Triton wins NSC round robin
Triton won the Northern State Conference round robin with a 5-0 defeat of visiting John Glenn Tuesday.
The Trojans won in straight sets at all positions to finish the NSC dual meet season undefeated at 6-0. The team travels to the NSC Tournament at Bremen today.
