Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver. Pastor Ron Lewellen officiating. Bammel of Syracuse; daughter, Suzette (Tommy) Dauberger of McComb Co., Mich., and daughter, Janie; stepsons, Robert (Elizabeth) Cobb of Elkhart, Jim (Carla) Cobb of Goshen; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Dorothy (Dottie) Conger, 84, of Plymouth passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
She is survived by three children, Steven (Donna) B. Conger, Sue (David) Underwood, Marsha Duncan; four grandchildren, Corey Duncan, Tai Duncan, Samantha Duncan, Dustin Underwood; and one great-grandson, Max Duncan.
Aug. 14, 1949, Dr. William H. Conger of Plymouth and Dorothy B. Cowgill were married in Greencastle. She earned a bachelorâ€™s degree in social work at Indiana University in 1949.

KNOX â€” Wayne E. Zobrist, 73, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Gary Zobrist of Knox; two sisters, Betty Goetzinger of De Bary, Fla. and Carolyn Dean of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two brothers, Ralph Zobrist of Congerville, Ill. and Howard Zobrist of Eureka, Ill.
There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

JONESBORO â€” Joan E. Barber, 93, died at 10 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, in Hospice House, South Bend. She was born in Jonesboro Dec. 31, 1917 to the late James and Ora (Futrell) Baskett. She married Clair Barber Oct. 26, 1946 and he preceded her in death in June 1989. Joan was a homemaker and had previously worked at Paranite Wire and Cable for more than 20 years. She was always a caregiver and enjoyed painting in oils and watercolors. She was a member of Community Bible Methodist Church where she was the treasurer for 30 years.
The potential role of Culverâ€™s Town Council -- and other local government bodies -- in possible installation of dozens of wind turbines in Union Township was discussed at last weekâ€™s (July 12) Council meeting. Audience member Hank Bilsland, of South Street in Culver, asked if the Council had taken a position on the matter, which has been the subject of several meetings in the area in recent months.
PLYMOUTH â€” The Marshall County Community Foundation and the United Way of Marshall County today announced the appointment of Linda K. Yoder as joint executive director of the two organizations.
Yoder was most recently vice president of Government Affairs at the Electric Motors Corporation of Plymouth, and before that was the director of the Nappanee Public Library where she had been employed for over 20 years, converting a traditional library into a vibrant and creative community center.
ARGOS â€” School may be out for the summer, but quiet is the opposite of what one would find in the Argos High School auditorium. For the past several months, a group of nuns have been filling the auditorium with rousing musical numbers, pithy dialogue, and humorous commentary. The Maxinkuckee Players of Culver will be traveling to area communities this year to perform "Nunsense: the Mega-Musical," beginning with an opening performance this Friday in Argos.
