PLYMOUTH — Betty Jean Kaminski, 79, of Parkview Ave., Plymouth, formerly of Argos, died at 10:15 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 6, 1932 in Bartow, Fla., to Jasper and Pansy (Dyson) Anderson and over to the Argos Community in 1955, coming from Dayton, Ohio.
She married Kenneth M. Kaminski March 6, 1952 in Henrietta, Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 27, 2007. Betty was a housewife.

DUNEDIN, Fla. — Clifford Duane Schlabach, 61, of Dunedin, Fla., passed away April 19, 2011, in the presence of his loving family following a courageous five year battle with cancer. 
He was an avid photographer and his beautiful photography, good humor and free spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Cliff was born to Albert and Kathleen Schlabach Oct. 10, 1949, in Kendallville, Ind. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in St. Petersburg, Fla.

PLYMOUTH — DellaMae Lucas, 88, of Plymouth, formerly of Knox, passed away Wednesday, March 2.
DellaMae was born Nov. 17, 1922 in Pulaski County to Oscar and Della (Rhinebarger) DePoy, both deceased. Feb. 15, 1941 she married John E. Lucas. He preceded her in death July 16, 2003.
She and her husband John were caretakers of Round Lake Cemetery for many years, she retired after 14 years as the clerk for the superintendent of the Starke County Highway Department.

PLYMOUTH — Raymond T. Pierson, 85, formerly of E. Baker St., Plymouth, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home at 3:40 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011.
Raymond was born in South Bend Dec. 5, 1925 to Louis V. and Victoria Rataczak Pierson. Ray attended school at St. Adelbert and Central High School in South Bend before joining the Navy. 
He enlisted in the Navy Jan. 3, 1943; he served in the Pacific Theater on the USS Mascorna and the USS Vela Gulf and was honorably discharged April 4, 1946.

Local brothers embark on national tour

SAVANNAH, GA — Music fans will be cheering some of the world’s top acts again this year as part of the Van’s Warped Tour that will criss cross the country through June, July and August.
Along with some of the hottest acts in music today — Paramore, Gym Class Heroes, Jack’s Mannequin, and Simple Plan to name just a few — will be a band from Savannah, Ga. called Passafire, that just happens to feature two names that will be very familiar to Plymouth residents.

KNOX — Janice F. Bolles, 64, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Porter Health-Valparaiso Hospital at 5:30 p.m.
Surviving are her husband, Fred Bolles Sr.; one son, Fred (Debbie) Bolles Jr. of England; two daughters, Kimberly Freet and Andrea Bolles, both of Knox; one granddaughter; two brothers, Troy Lewis of Portage and Danny Lewis of Valparaiso; three sisters, Hazel Fields of Newton County, Mary Noe of South Haven, and Barbara Snyder of Florida.

KOONTZ LAKE — Robert H. Ferguson, 79, passed away Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Ind. Ferguson was born July 8, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. to Howard and Evelyn (Houser) Ferguson. 
He is survived by his very special friend, Frances Christy. Also surviving are his good friends, William and Nina Belk and many more friends from the Hoosier Old Wheels Car Club.

LaPORTE — Iris L. Zink, 96, of LaPorte,  died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Brentwood Assisted Living.
She was born July 7, 1914 in Walkerton to Oliver and Fern (Bennett) Cripe.
Aug. 12, 1933 in Kokomo she married Audra B. Zink who preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1991. 
She was a member of Salem Chapel United Methodist Church.

PLYMOUTH — Clement C. Fox, 85, died unexpectedly at his West 9th Road residence Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:50 p.m. due to natural causes.
He was born Sept. 27, 1925 in Monterey, one of 14 children from the union of Frederick W. and Elizabeth (Winter) Fox. He received his elementary education at St. Anne’s Holy Family School and continued at Monterey High School.

AARP Driver Safety course May 19

PLYMOUTH — The Marshall County Council on Aging is hosting the AARP Driver Safety Program at the Life Enrichment Center Thursday, May 19. The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and box lunches will be available for purchase to those who RSVP. Although the program is geared toward drivers 50 and older, all ages of drivers are encouraged to attend. In this course, attendees will learn:
• Defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road
• How to deal with aggressive drivers
