MISHAWAKA â Two wins in two nights proved too much for Plymouth at Penn Thursday.
Coming off a lopsided home win over Whitko Wednesday, the Class 3A No. 8 Pilgrims suffered their first defeat of the season as the Kingsmen outlasted them in overtime, 52-42.
âNo excuses. We knew they had gotten to rest the night before, but we were coming over here to compete. Thatâs all there was to it. It wasnât an option to not show up and not compete,â said Plymouth head coach Ryan Bales.
CULVER â The Lady Cavaliers overcame a slow start to defeat the North Judson Lady Jays at home Thursday night, 63-45.
Culver (6-6) scored just six points in the first quarter, while the visiting Lady Jays (7-4) put up 15, but the second quarter heated up quickly.

She is survived by her sisters, Janice (Chuck) Estok of Knox, Yvonne (Larry Larson) Bradley of Warsaw, Tammy Lynn (Tim) Rowe of Sellersberg; father, Owen Stacy of North Judson; son, Owen Douglas Massing of Plymouth; daughter, Nichole (Chester) Coon of Muncie; and two grandchildren.
Services were Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox.

PLYMOUTH â Baker Edwin Gee, 69, of Plymouth passed away at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 in his home. He was born May 31, 1942 in Henderson, Ky. to Baker Gee and Evelyn L. (Brown) Turnage. March 24, 2000 in South Bend, he married Mary (DeBlase) Hurst.

LEESBURG, Fla. â James J. Dorman, DVM, who served for more than 25 years as a multi-county large - animal veterinarian, entered into his heavenly rest Dec. 16, 2011. He and his wife (Allie Bird) moved from Argos in 1966 to work for the USDA as an epidemiologist in the states of North Carolina and Tennessee. He is survived by his loving three children, Jean, Libby and John and his wife Nora of Leesburg, Fla. Doc had seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Argos remained a very special place in his heart.

BOURBON â James E. Sommer, 84 of Bourbon passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at 3 a.m. at home in the care of his family and Hospice.
Jim was born the son of Lester I. Sommer and Barbara Stauffer Sommer Nov. 27, 1927 at Ft. Wayne. He was a resident of the Bourbon and Etna Green area all his life. He was a 1945 graduate of Leo High School. He also was owner of Bourbon Plumbing and Heating for many years, served in the United States Air Force during World War II and attended the Philadelphia Church of God of Elkhart.

AKRON â Wilma was born March 12, 1916 in Fulton County to William H. and Nellie Myers Grass. She married Harvey Grosvenor June 29, 1940 in Warsaw; he passed away Dec. 17, 1964. She then married Kenneth Barkman Sept. 24, 1977 in Rochester; he passed away Sept. 17, 2002.
Surviving are two nieces: Carol Haas, LaPaz and Candance Yeager, Zionsville. Along with her husbands she was preceded in death by one brother: Lloyd Grass.

LAKEVILLE â Once again, a steady stream of children filed past toy-covered tables during the Lakeville Lions-LaPaz Lions Toys for Tots distribution day.
Unlike the last several years, though, those youngsters, their parents, and volunteers from both Lions Clubs enjoyed plenty of room to maneuver, thanks to a new location â Newton Center in Lakeville.
After eight years at the Union-North Ambulance Service building the ever-expanding campaign charged into its new home Saturday to rave reviews.
