Garrett Weil of LaPaz, a student at LaVille Elementary School, finished fifth in the feature event of Senior Honda Quarter Midgets at the Ft. Wayne Rumble over the New Year holiday. Weil is the son of Brian and Annette Weil.
PLYMOUTH â While Marshall County government faces challenges in the coming year, local officials feel confident of the countyâs abilities to meet them. The economy remains the topic on everybodyâs mind and the effect of decreasing tax revenue on county services.
PLYMOUTH â Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Curt Palmer gave the oath of office to nearly two dozen newly elected officials late Friday morning.
Those in attendance were elected to office in the November General Election.

PLYMOUTH â At least two âvery high qualityâ counterfeit $100s were passed at Plymouth businesses last week.
Plymouth Police say the fakes were printed on $5 bills which had been altered through âbleachingâ them.

PLYMOUTH â George E. Hilliard, age 86, of Pretty Lake Trail, Plymouth, passed away at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at Millerâs Merry Manor in Plymouth.
George was born July 14, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Mich. to Dr. George H. and Edna (Marlatt) Hilliard. George received his B.S. from Western Michigan University and earned his M.S. from University of Michigan. George proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Boston and remained active in the Navy Reserves until 1984.

PLYMOUTH â Flora B. Conley, 78, of North Street, Plymouth, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at 2:05 p.m., at her home.
Flora was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Kewanna, to Joseph and Rosa (Manes) MacLain. She worked at GM Enterprises, a stamping plant, in Plymouth. Flora married Austin Conley Nov. 19, 1972, in Argos. After their marriage they moved to Plymouth.
Flora loved to make crocheted afghans for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also the âmasterâ cookie maker, for her family.
