PLYMOUTH — John S. Irwin, 59, of Plymouth, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at his brother’s residence.

ARGOS — Doris Gambrel, 80, of Argos, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at her residence.

ROCHESTER — Marilyn L. Fritts of Rochester, died at 1:53 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at her residence.Â
She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Cara (Bret) Weathers of Fishers and Laura (Brian) Fritts-Stilwell of Evansville; five grandchildren; a sister, Judith (Harold) Fredine of Granger; and a brother, Dr. David (Janna) Estrich of Orinda, Calif.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

PLYMOUTH — Herbert Thomas Christy, 80, of Plymouth, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010.
He is survived by daughters: Judy Schafer, Pamela Kollar and Lori Vogt; sons: Thomas Christy, Jerry Christy and Rick Christy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Ernestine Harlacher, Jeanette Keim and Carole Broeckers; and a brother, George Christy.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St. Lakeville, and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.
ARGOS — Argos took a 5-1 decision over visiting Logansport Tuesday night, getting a pair of goals each from Samantha Stults and Ally Rospopo.
The Berries struck first when freshman Whitney Jennings corralled an errant Dragon pass and took it in for the score in the 13th minute. Rospopo leveled the match with five minutes to go in the half on a rebound in front of the goal.
PLYMOUTH — Down a man, Plymouth's offense stepped up the tempo on Bremen and nearly pulled off the win.
Bremen goalie Pedro Jimenez and the Lions back line also stepped up their play, however, thwarting a total of six shots on goal in a roughly 15-minute span to force a 2-2 draw with the host Rockies in a boys soccer game at Kindt Field Tuesday.

PLYMOUTH — Lifetime Plymouth resident Ralph E. Schaal, 87, of Briarwood Avenue, died unexpectedly of natural causes Monday Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:48 a.m. in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Ralph was born the son of Ralph Cleo and Fern (Kanarr) Schaal in Plymouth Nov. 22, 1922.
He was a 1941 graduate from LaPaz High School.
June 16, 1945 he took Rula June McCan as his wife in Plymouth. This past June they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary together.

ELBURN, Ill. — David R. Town, 52, of Elburn, Ill., passed away Aug. 25, 2010 in his home after a two-year battle with cancer.
Dave was married May 30, 1992 in St. Charles to Donna McLaughlin Town who survives. Other survivors include his parents, Bob and Dorothy Town of Bluffton, Ohio, formerly of Argos; sisters Lorie Osinski of Glen Arbor, Mich., Robin (Paul) Miller and Rhonda (Chris) Wrenger of Bluffton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Lena Coplen of Bourbon, Mary (Stan) Wilhelm of Argos; and an uncle, Bill (Lu) Town of Bremen.

KOONTZ LAKE — Francis Christopher "Chris" Irwin, 52, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne.Â
Chris was born Dec. 25, 1957 in Chicago, Ill. to Francis X. and Margaret M. (Quebbeman) Irwin and lived at Koontz Lake since 1974, coming from Chicago.Â

DONALDSON — Janet Barenie, 80, died of natural causes at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, in the Catherine Kasper Home.
Born in Hebron, Ind. May 29, 1930, she was the daughter of Oliver and Gertrude Gilson Berdine.
April 30, 1948 she took Alfred “Chuck” Barenie as her husband; he preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1989.
Janet worked for the Poor Hand Maids of Jesus Christ of Ancilla Domini assisting her husband the poultry farm manager, and later worked as their receptionist.
