Bauer is the man of the hour for Cavs

December 4, 2010

CULVER — Slow and steady wins the race, or in this case, the basketball game.
The visiting LaCrosse Tigers were no match for Culver Community’s calm offense. Even against a LaCrosse full-court press and a defense that was trying to grab any free ball, Culver kept possession and control of the game the entire night, winning 58-41 at home Friday.

Trojans fall in OT at NorthWood

December 4, 2010

NAPPANEE — Triton’s ice-cold 3-point shooting finally caught up with it in overtime.
The Class A No. 2 Trojans connected on just 4 of 25 attempts from downtown — 0 for 6 in the extra session — and scuffled to a 28.8 percent clip from the field overall in a 50-43 overtime loss to NorthWood’s boys basketball team Friday at The Pit.
To exacerbate the frustration, the Trojans, who led most of the night, built a 35-27 advantage with 5:39 left in regulation and led until Michael Paul’s 3-pointer knotted the game at 40-all with 29 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.

Plymouth falls short at Rochester

December 4, 2010

ROCHESTER — Right guy. Right look. Wrong result.
