ROCHESTER — Betty Colacicco, 82, of Rochester, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Hickory Creek of Rochester. Â
She is survived by sons:Â William Steelman of Philadelphia, Penn., Ron Steelman of Rochester, Anthony Colacicco of Rochester; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a niece.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.

PLYMOUTH – Patti J. Cox, 51, of 13616 6C Road died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn.
She was born Nov. 11, 1958 in South Bend, to David L. and Wilma Jean McGowan. Patti was a 1977 graduate of LaVille High School and attended college in Pittsburg, Pa., before graduating from Michiana College of Commerce.
April 19, 1980 in Lakeville, she married Jeffrey R. Cox; he died Feb. 22, 2008.
Patti worked for 16 years as a medical assistant at South Bend Orthopedic.
The Pride of Plymouth Marching Band attended the Concord High School marching band invitational Saturday, Sept. 18. For the second week in a row, the band placed first at the invitational. Fairfield came in second; John Glenn was third; NorthWood was fourth; and Wawasee was fifth. The Plymouth Band also swept all of the captions awards winning Best Music, Best Visual, and Best General Effect. This coming weekend, the band will compete in the Penn High School invitational. The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims donned pink uniforms on Breast Cancer Awareness Night before a game with Warsaw at Plymouth last week. The team held a fundraiser at the match, raising $1,238 for Ounce of Prevention. The fundrasier was the brainchild of seniors Lindsay Renz and Meagan Barron.

A parent of a Culver High School student filed a police report Sept. 13 after her son was allegedly injured by another student at the school.
In a telephone interview, Anita Lewis said that her 16-year-old son received a head injury after another student repeatedly banged his head into a brick wall.
Lewis said she took her son to a local hospital when he returned home on the bus at approximately 3:45 p.m. She contends that the injury took place at about 1:30-1:45 p.m.

Two local groups are teaming up for two traditional events on Oct. 3
The Humane Society’s annual Bark in the Park and Walk Across Indiana sponsored by the Purdue Extension Office will get man – or woman – and their best friend in shape together as they walk through Centennial Park on that Saturday. The walk will begin at 1 p.m. at Centennial Park starting next to the tennis courts.Â
LAKEVILLE — LaVille recorded 22 shots on goal to just three by Culver, and the surging Lancers shut out the slumping Cavaliers 5-0 at Newton Park Tuesday.
It was LaVille’s sixth straight victory, and head coach Kevin Christy said his Lancers seem to be peaking at the right time heading into the home stretch of the season.
“The last time we played Culver at the Blueberry Festival I think the score was 4-2,” he said. “We’ve definitely improved since then."
PLYMOUTH — Losing their two main offensive weapons on nearly back to back plays didn’t seem to faze Plymouth’s Rockies in taking a win a week ago over Elkhart Memorial.
After some initial shock losing Brock Smith and Houston Hodges to injury, the Rockies regrouped behind sophomore quarterback Ike Kastner and running back Sam Stevens.
