Tri Kappa presents annual History Walk

September 21, 2010

PLYMOUTH — Sunday, Sept. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m., Beta Delta Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority will present its third annual Plymouth History Walk.
Featured characters and those who will play them are: Cyrus Taber—Christina Green: Julius Vinall—his great-great-grandson, Jim Vinall: Alfred Morrison—Larry Marhanka: Ernest Haag—John Patrick: Julia Work—Mandy Metsker and Mayer Lauer — Mike Bergman.

Drainage board addresses Tippecanoe, Plymouth projects

PLYMOUTH — An area southwest of Tippecanoe will be a little drier if the Marshall County Drainage Board has its way.
The Board held a public hearing on the combining of two watersheds in the area and putting them on a maintenance assessment to repair damage. The Board will combine the watershed for the Mechling Drain - a small watershed - with that of the Brockey Ditch that runs next to it.

Goodwill program could be on the way to county

PLYMOUTH - Goodwill Industries wants to lend a helping hand to those in Marshall County looking for work.
Ed Charleston of Goodwill came before the Marshall County Commissioners seeking their approval for the company’s “Impact” Community Work Experience Program. Impact stands for Indiana Manpower Placement and Comprehensive Training and is a program of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.

BREMEN — Patti Jean Cox, 51, of Plymouth, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn.
She is survived by a son, Christopher (Jessica) Cox of Fort Mill, S.C.; a sister, Suzanne (David) Adams of Lakeville; brother, Dr. Jack (Rose) McGowan, Montgomery, Texas; sister-in-law, Joetta (Greg) Balsley of Plymouth; brother-in-law, Jerry (Cindy) Cox of Plymouth; and father-in-law, James Cox of Bremen.

PLYMOUTH — Richard K. “Dick” Reese, 81, a resident of 10B Road for the past 56 years, died at his home Sunday evening following an illness. Dick has been a lifetime Marshall County resident.
He was born in Bremen, June 8, 1929 the son of David and Violet (Hepler) Reese. 
Dick attended LaPaz High School and like many young men he enlisted in the armed forces with the desire to serve his Country. From January of 1947 until June of 1948 he served as a Tech 5 in the U.S. Army.

Marcella P. White

CULVER — Marcella P. White, 88, of Culver, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Sept. 20, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.
Marcella was born May 30, 1922 at home in rural Starke County. She was one of six children born to Oscar and Nellie (Duddelson) Zechiel. After graduating from Culver Comm. High School she fell in love and married Jesse White Nov. 14, 1942. Together they raised three sons.
