UW celebrates its past, looks forward to its future

September 13, 2010

PLYMOUTH — It was an evening that brought 50 years of Marshall County history and caring into the same room for a celebration, but while the evening may have finally come to an end, the caring — and the task ahead for United Way of Marshall County — has not.
“I have the distinction to provide closing remarks for this celebration,” said Unit-ed Way Board President Rick Kreps, summing up Saturday evening’s festivities. “It’s an honor to do so and a very simple task. That’s because there is no closing.”
He explained the need for the United Way is a continuous one.

Lady Rockies drop NLC contest 2-0

September 13, 2010

PLYMOUTH — Despite an even 7-7 shot margin, Plymouth fell 2-0 in a Northern Lakes Conference girls soccer match with Northridge at home at Kindt Field Saturday.
Northridge’s speed proved to be a difference-maker in the contest.
“We’re certainly not the quickest team. We rely on possession ball and we rely on the ability to make good runs and for players to check to the ball,” said Plymouth head coach Joe Morris. “Against a team like this that does a good job of using their speed, we’ve got to be smarter, and we’ve got to play really, really precise soccer.”
