ARGOS â€” After a tentative 1-0 win over LaPorte in the first round of the Argos girls soccer invitational, the Argos girls soccer team looked to face stiffer competition in Munster. The Mustangs handled LaVille 3-0 in their semifinal and returned 10 seniors from last yearâ€™s semi-state squad. The Dragons, however, stepped up to the challenge before falling 2-1 in overtime.
Plymouth finished its home volleyball tournament 0-3 as Muncie Burris won the championship Saturday.
Haley Smart led the Lady Pilgrims with 23 total kills for the tournament, while Meagan Barron had 49 assists. Lindsay Renz recorded 16 digs overall as Plymouth slid to 3-5 on the season.

PLYMOUTH â€” Area 12 and 13 Toastmasters were entertained for nearly three hours Saturday morning in Plymouth during the annual Humorous Speech Contest.
Rules for the contest were strictly adhered to including a time limit of speech length from five to seven minutes with a disqualification clause for any speech fewer than four minutes and 30 seconds or longer than seven minutes and 30 seconds. Official timekeeper was Eric Anderson of the Wythogan Club of Plymouth.
ETNA GREEN â€” A 13-year-old Etna Green boy lost his life Saturday morning as a result of a tragic accident that took place on his familyâ€™s farm.
Wyman Lynn Miller, an eighth grade student at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School, went out at about 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 to gather 14 horses, most of them Belgian Draft horses, from a wooded area behind the family farm at 8409 West, CR 750 North to send them back to the barn to be fed.
He brought back four of them but when he didnâ€™t return with more, his brothers went to look for him and found him unconcious.

ETNA GREEN â€” Wyman Lynn Miller, 13, of Etna Green, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at his residence, after an accident.
He is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Margaret Miller of Etna Green; brothers: Darrell (Rebecca) Miller of Etna Green; Myron Dale Miller, Marlin Ray Miller and Lloyd Miller Jr., all at home; sisters: Suzetta Miller, Rosalie Miller, Kay Ellen Miller, and Marla Renae Miller, all at home; and grandparents, Edward and Edna Miller of Nappanee.

ROCHESTER â€”Â Colleen May, 62, of Rochester, died at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 19, 2010 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.Â
She isÂ survived by her husband, Delbert; daughters, AllisonÂ Tyler of DanvilleÂ and Kelly (Chris) Drubert of Brownsburg; brothers, Larry KoebckeÂ of Valparaiso and Walter (Donna) Koebcke of Kewanna; and two grandsons.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m.Â Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18 St., Rochester, and an hour prior to services at the church.Â
