CULVER â Randy Dwane Nelson, age 46, of Culver, formerly of Michigan City, died Wednesday, Nov. 17 at LaPorte Hospital. Â
Randy was born May 11, 1964 in Michigan City to Emmitt (Alva) and Gloria (Smith) Nelson. His mother preceded him in death, his father survives in LaPorte.

PLYMOUTH â Gloria J. Rash, 61, also affectionately known as Jeanne and Georgia, died at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, following an illness.Â
She had been a resident of Plymouth for the past 10 years, coming from Dublin, Ga.
The daughter of Wallace and Bonelle Johns Horton, she was born in Georgia Dec. 31, 1948. As a child, Gloriaâs parents moved often and she lived in many different towns in Georgia.
June 1, 2001, Gloria and Curtis L. Rash were married in Plymouth.

PLYMOUTH â The Ma-shall County Republican Party held a caucus Thursday night to select a new Marshall County Commissioner.
Currently Tom Chamberlin sits on the board, but he has tendered his resignation effective Dec. 31 in order to assume the duties of Marshall County Sheriff.
After three rounds of voting by the 18 precinct committeemen present, Greg Compton was named by Republican Chair David Holmes to fill the position for the next two years.
PLYMOUTH â The Plymouth School Board held a public hearing last night concerning a proposed Capital Improvements and a Qualified School Construction Bond (QSCB).
Following the public hearing, the board voted 4-0 to move forward with the estimated $4,205,000 project. Board member Melissa Christiansen was absent from the meeting.
The hearing was held per Indiana statute. Projects more than $1 million or more in construction costs require a public hearing.

ROCHESTER â Amanda âHelenâ Biltz, 64, of Rochester, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Woodlawn Hospital.
Arrangements are pending with Good Family Funeral Home 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.

PLYMOUTH â Gloria J. Rash, 61, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka following an illness.
BOURBON â Close basketball games are often decided at the free throw line.
The Lady Trojans committed 17 second-half fouls to put Plymouth in the double bonus less than 2 minutes into the fourth quarter. Three Triton starters eventually fouled out, and the Pilgrims went on to capitalize at a 12-for-17 free throw rate in the final 6 minutes to rally past Triton for a 52-47 victory at The Trojan Trench Thursday.
NAPPANEE â Early in the season and with an inexperienced roster, NorthWood girls basketball coach Steve Neff will take a win any way he can get it.
NorthWood shot just 38 percent from the field and dealt with senior Taylor Olsonâs foul trouble, but overcame both for a 57-49 win over Bremen Thursday night.
âWeâre going through some growing pains, and Iâm happy because they kept their heads,â Neff said. âAnd (Bremen) has a nice, scrappy team and theyâre going to win some games this year.â

LAKEVILLE â Loren Roger Geyer, 84, of Lakeville, died Nov. 16, 2010 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Geyer; daughters, Debra (Richard) Gardner, Cindy (Randy) Frick and Lori (Robert) Gibson; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Pat) Geyer and Russell (Jeanne) Geyer.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 in the Newton Center, Lakeville and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.
