PLYMOUTH â The Marshall County Sheriffâs Office will have new squad cars â that will be trucks.
The Marshall County Commissioners opened bids for four new vehicles for the department that will be four door, four wheel drive pick up trucks, replacing four sedan cruisers in the fleet. Representatives of the sheriffâs office explained that the vehicles hold their value longer than sedans and have a greater resale at trade-in time. It was also said that several other local sheriffs departments have added pick-up trucks to their fleet and that they would be useful in bad winter weather.
PLYMOUTH â Work will begin to start to alleviate some drainage issues around the town of Argos.
The Marshall County Drainage Board accepted bids for work to be done on the Myers Ditch that is on the townâs southwest side near the Madras Packaging facility.
The board received four bids for the work with the low bidder â J.D. Excavating â being awarded the work with a bid of $105,450. The project had an estimated cost of $114,474.

ARGOS â Tamra âTammyâ Lynn (Hopf) Hughes, 52, of Argos, died at 8:50 a.m., Nov. 12, 2010 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband, David Hughes.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S. Center St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.

ARGOS â Argos' girls basketball team learned a valuable lesson about being in the right place at the right time Tuesday.Â
Boosted by a fleet-footed backcourt, the Dragons' help-and-recover man-to-man defense held visiting Triton to a miserable 17 percent clip from the field, and senior forward Latisha Shepherd knocked down a game-high 18 points as Argos earned a 43-29 win at Phil Weybright Gymnasium.
Argos' help-side defense, which consistently plugged up driving lanes, relegated the Trojans to the perimeter where they finished 3 of 18 from 3-point range.
ROCHESTER â A little of the old, a little of the new.
Plymouth's girls swim team brought the perfect combination of experience and new talent to their season opener Tuesday, coasting to an eventual 127-58 win at Rochester.
The Lady Pilgrims grabbed wins in all swim events and swept the top three spots in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle swims as well as the 100-yard breast stroke race.
ELKHART â The Bremen girls swimming team had its share of solid performances, but opened the season with a 108-77 loss to host Concord Tuesday night.
"The beginning of the season is really hard, especially against a tough and talented team like Concord," first-year Bremen coach Seth Donnelly said. "But the ladies did really well. They're swimming sore right now, and it's a testament to how hard they work."
