MISHAWAKA — Lloyd “Hap” Morris, age 91, of Mishawaka, passed away at 3:44 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at the Sanctuary At Holy Cross, in South Bend.Â
Hap was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Plymouth, to Lloyd H. and Erma K. (Humrichouser) Morris.
On April 26, 1947, Hap married the former Rosalee “Rosie” Wolfarth.

ROCHESTER — Eleanor I. Crum, age 80, of 827 West 13th St., Rochester passed away at 3:45 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at the Life Care Center, in Rochester.Â
She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Charles) Hostetler of Plymouth, and Leslie Duncan of Ohio; her son, Mark (fiancĂ©e Kayla Braatz of Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and expecting one; and her brother, Kenneth Johnson of California.Â
There will be no visitation or funeral.

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth High School marching band — Pride of Plymouth — made Plymouth High School history last week by becoming the first-ever marching band from Plymouth to qualify for the Indiana State School Music Association’s Marching Band state finals.
The band is under the direction of Bryan Ames and Lisa Wallyn.  Guard director is Nikki Horner.  Drum majors for the band are Tori MacLain, Elizabeth Wolford, Addie Palmer and Stephen John-son.
INDIANAPOLIS — Voters will be asked to decide on an important constitutional amendment in the upcoming election regarding property taxes. The Indiana Property Tax Cap Amendment will appear on the Nov. 2 ballot as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment.
The summary of the measure as it will appear on the ballot is as follows:
“Shall property taxes be limited for all classes of property by amending the Constitution of the State of Indiana to do the following:
(1) Limit a taxpayer’s annual property tax bill to the following percentages of gross assessed value:
PLYMOUTH — No further action will be taken on complaints that had been filed against Judith Stone, candidate for County Council District 4.
Stone’s opponent in the political race, Ryan Ripley, had made formal complaints to the Marshall County Election Board Oct. 22 and hand delivered a complaint Sept. 27 authorized by the Marshall County Democrat Party to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
In his complaint to the Election Board, Ripley indicated that Stone did not properly list in-kind donations in her financial report.
PLYMOUTH — In a few months one local athlete will be competing for a national title.
Mike Grubbs of Plymouth will head to Mesquite, Nev. — just outside of Las Vegas — in early December to make his bid for a world title as a member of Team USA in the XXXII World Armwrestling Champion-ships.
Grubbs, who won a qualifier in Montana and the right to be one of two athletes on the team in his weight class, is hardly new to the sport.
