Wakeland ponders options for the coming year

October 11, 2010

PLYMOUTH — It wouldn’t make Eric Wakeland upset if the next tire he carried over the wall was headed for his tractor.
The NASCAR veteran who currently performs that task for the crew of David Gilliland feels hometown life and the family farm calling him.
“I’m going to be 41 in November I really don’t want to be carrying tires over the wall all that much longer if I don’t have to,” he said.

October 11, 2010

LAKEVILLE — The Panthers needed just one goal Saturday to reclaim their title.
Eduardo Salinas scored a clean-up goal less than seven minutes in, and the NorthWood defense made the lone strike stand up as the Panthers unseated last year’s champion LaVille 1-0 in the LaVille Boys Soccer Sectional championship game to restore themselves as sectional titleholders Saturday at Newton Park.
